Dr. William ChRistie

Why I do what I do:

I enjoy the relationships I have with my patients, many going on for over 40 years. I enjoy the challenge of dentistry while helping people achieve optimal dental health. I appreciate educating patients and encouraging prevention. Minimally invasive dentistry has always been a strong emphasis for me. I love working with the staff I’ve had for many years (19 years for some) and, since 2013 with my son, Dr. Mark Christie.

What I do when I’m not working:

Many of you reading this may already know how much I enjoy my hobbies- old cars, history and collecting historical artifacts. Recently, I completed writing my third book about a fictional character named Timmy, growing up in the gold rush era of California. I draw from my appreciation of historical knowledge to bring Timmy’s story to life in a realistic manner, while providing readers with a glimpse into what it might have been like way back in 1849 in California. You may also find me browsing yard sales, or cruising around town with my wife in a 1920’s automobile.

Coffee or Tea?:

Decaf coffee from Cafe Bene around the corner on Cedar Street.

Why Santa Cruz:

It is the best place on earth and 3 out of my 4 children and their families live here.
